Rebirth of Fortune 2

What is Rebirth of Fortune 2?

Rebirth of Fortune 2 is a tactical RPG similar to Final Fantasy Tactics or Vanguard Bandits. It’s has a lot of RPG characteristics but the mechanics play more like a game of chess. It’s currently $2.77 in the Google Play Store with in app purchases.

Much like any other strategy RPG, you play as a group of characters who take to the battle field against a group of bad guys. You must strategically move your characters and attack the bad guys. The graphics are cleverly done 2D and the style of the graphics may very well lend to the notion that this is a Final Fantasy Tactics clone. There are 26 classes you can choose from and the game boasts over 1000 stages although we wouldn’t be surprised if many of those elements were recycled. Regardless, it’s a very long game.

Everything is pretty standard. The mechanics should be familiar to long time fans of the genre and easy to pick up for those who haven’t played games like this before. There are a host of characters and small story lines to play through. About the only thing that may ruin the experience is the stereotypical in-app purchase model as prices can range up to almost $100. We imagine a good number of those are to unlock things that are otherwise difficult to unlock even deep into the game.

Rebirth of Fortune 2 review

Over 1000 stages?!

PROS
  • There is a lot of content in this game including over 1000 stages and 26 character classes.
  • Decent graphics that are on par with some of the best titles in this genre.
  • Familiar game mechanics and game play will make fans of the genre feel right at home and it’s not hard to learn for beginners.
CONS
  • Google Play Games achievements and cloud saving would have been nice.
  • A more cohesive story line would have been a nice touch. As it stands, this is like a mix between Final Fantasy Tactics and Angry Birds.
Overall, this is a solid strategy RPG. The IAPs have the potential to ruin the game but you can play through it without them if you’re persistent and clever. If you’re interested, it’s $2.77 and the button is below.
