Cloud computing is having a moment–just ask Inc. entrepreneur of the year and Box CEO Aaron Levie, who says the office workers of today have gone rogue. People are rejecting clunky business-specific hardware and demanding a fast, good user experience. So perhaps that’s why it shouldn’t be a surprise that most (46 percent) of the CEOs on the Inc. 500, an annual list of the fastest-growing companies, think cloud computing will have the greatest impact on business over the next 10 years. Yes, 3D printing and wearable technology are hot trends, but the future forecast looks very cloudy, thanks to the fact that people are using smartphones more than ever.
